Age 21, my partner and I up-rooted our cosy life in Devon to move to a town we’d visited once. I joined the first company I interviewed with, in a sector I knew nothing about, doing a job I’d only became aware of a few weeks before. We had no nearby family, no friends, no real idea of what we were getting ourselves into.
It’s been a rollercoaster, to say the least. I’ve learned more about myself and other people in the last 4 years than I had in the prior 21 years combined. There have been dizzying highs and colossal life lessons.
This blog is a no-holds-barred account of my transition both personally and professionally. So many young people go through the same thing and make huge moves at a time of their life where, really, they’re still understanding who they are and who they want to be.
If this blog has found its way to your screen and you’re about to leave for university, take a year out travelling, or relocate to pastures new, I hope this helps with your transition.
Most importantly, I hope you enjoy what you read!
